Instructions for A:
You (as A) and another student (as B) will have 10 minutes to prepare a conversation. The
conversation will be divided into 2 parts, each part taking about 5 minutes. In Part 1, A
will ask the questions, and B will respon& In Part 2, B will ask the questions, and A will
respond. Your instructor will indicate when to change parts.
Note:
Final grades will be determined by the accuracy, fluency and appropriateness of your
conversation. The two parts of your conversation should be naturally connected. You will
bc judged not only on your ability to ask and answer questions, but also on your ability to
keep
the conversation going smoothly. Your conversation should flow as naturally as
possible.
Topics for conversation: (1) Your Career (2) Mass Media
You and B are going to make up a conversation. You will be first talking about Your career,
and then moving on to the topic of Mass media. Your conversation will be in two parts. Each
takes about 5 minutes. Your examiner will indicate when to change to the second part.
Part 1: Your Career
A starts the conversation by asking the first question, followed with more questions. B
mainly answers questions. This part of your conversation should last about 5 minutes.
You are A.
Your questions should be related to the topic of Your Career. Here are some suggestions:
Ask B to tell where he/she works and what his/her career is.
Ask B to tell what importance his/her career has to the society and himself/herself.
Ask B whether he/she likes his/hex career and why.
Ask B to tell what he/she should do to get promoted.
Part 2: Mass Media
B is now going to ask questions. A mainly answers questions. This part of your conversation
should last about 5 minutes.
You are A.
Now it is your turn to answer questions. B will be trying to talk about Mass Media by asking
you some related questions. Try to answer them as best as you can and keep the conversation
flowing.
