Make a presentation on how English serves the purposes of science.
In Unit 6 you were exposed to changing English since the Second World War. After the
Second World War, science and the application of science developed very rapidly, and they
could not have done so withoul symbolic systems. They needed an international language.
The following ideas should be included in your talk:
1)why science and technology' need an international language;
2)why English is used as an international language in science, and

Instruction for examiners
There are 3 topics for examinees to choose randomly.
Each examinee is asked to make a 4-minute presentation on the topic he or she has drawn by chance.
The marking criteria are given below for your reference,
