Instructions for A:
You (as A) and another student (as B) have 10 minutes to prepare a conversation. The
conversation will be divided into 2 parts, each part taking about 5 minutes. In Part 1, A
will ask the questions, and B will respond. In Part 2, B will ask the questions, and A will
respond. The examiner will indicate when to change parts.
Note:
Final grades will be determined by the accuracy, fluency and appropriateness of your
conversation. You will be judged not only on your ability to ask and answer questions, but
also on your ability to keep the conversation going smoothly. Your conversation should
flow as naturally as possible.
Situation: A and B are two people who know each other very well. You will be talking
first about your relationships, and then moving on to the topic of celebrations. The
conversation will be in two parts. Each part takes about 5 minutes. Your examiner will
indicate when to change to the second part.
Part 1: Relationships
A starts the conversation by asking the first question, followed with more questions. B
mainly answers questions. This part of your conversation should continue for about 5 minutes.
You are A.
Your questions should relate to relationships between people. Here are some
suggest ions:
● Ask B about his/her relationships.
● Ask B about his/her views on what makes a lasting friendship.
● Ask B about any troubles or difficulties in trying to maintain a friendship.
● Ask B about any of his/her experiences or those o[ his friends or family in dealing
with relationship problems.
Part 2: Celebrations
B is now going to ask questions. A mainly answers questions. This part of your
conversation should continue for about 5 minutes.
You are A.
Now it is your turn to answer questions. B will be talking about the topic of
celebrations. You may answer his/her questions by giving comments or relating your own
relevant experiences.
