Instructions for A:
You (as A) and another student (as B) have 10 minutes to prepare a conversation. The
conversation will be divided into 2 parts, each part taking about 5 minutes. In Part 1, A
will ask the questions, and B will respond. In Part 2, B will ask the questions, and A will
respond. The examiner will indicate when to change parts.
Note:
Final grades will be determined by the accuracy, fluency and appropriateness of your
conversation. You will be judged not only on your ability to ask and answer questions, buy
also on your ability to keep the conversation going smoothly. Your conversation should
flow as naturally as possible.
Situation: A and B are two people who know each other very well. You will be talking first
about "a famous sports star", and then moving on to "booking a room". The conversation
will be in two parts. Each part takes about 5 minutes. Your examiner will indicate when to
change to the second part.
Part 1: Describing a Famous Sports Star
A starts the conversation by asking the first question, followed with more questions. B
mainly answers questions. This part of your conversation should continue for about 5
minutes.
You are A.
Your questions should relate to "a famous sports star". Here are some suggestions for you to
prepare your questions:
--Ask B to talk about who is his/her favourite famous sports star.
--Ask B to talk about what s/he is famous for.
--Ask B to talk about his/her achievement.
--Ask B to talk about his/her recent development.
Part 2: Booking a Room
B is now going to ask questions. A mainly answers questions. This part of your conversation
should continue for about 5 minutes.
You are A.
Now it is your turn to answer questions. You may answer his/her questions by relating your
own relevant experiences.
